Glacier Lake Kayak & White Pass Railway

Ride the historic White Pass & Yukon Route Railway and explore the crystal clear waters of a glacially carved lake by kayak. One stage of your adventure will be aboard the “scenic railway of the world.” Winding through the rugged coastal mountains and rainforest, this ride is truly unforgettable. Enjoy stunning views of waterfalls, trestles, mountains, glaciers, and the original White Pass Trail of 1898. Experience the beauty of the Canadian wilds at the White Pass summit before disembarking at Lake Bernard.

The next stage of your adventure begins with a “gear grab” and instruction in the use of stable, state-of-the-art 2-person kayaks. Paddle across the cold pristine waters that the Klondikers plied over 100 years ago to reach the gold fields of the Yukon. Enjoy unobstructed views of snow-capped mountains that rise in all directions. Your experienced and knowledgeable guide will thrill you with interpretations of the gold rush, natural history, flora, and fauna. Watch for bear, mountain goat, caribou, and eagles amid the austere alpine terrain of the Tormented Valley.

After paddling, enjoy a light snack and refreshments before boarding a motor-coach for your return to Skagway. Your driver also provides narration of the history and scenery of the route down the Klondike Highway.
