Glacier Lake Kayak and Scenic Rail

Ride the historic White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad and explore the crystal clear waters of a glacially-carved lake by kayak! The first stage of your adventure will be aboard the “scenic railway of the world,” whose route was carved out of the rugged Coastal Mountains. Your train ride is truly unforgettable, complete with impressive views of waterfalls, trestles, mountains, glaciers and the original “trail of ’98.” You will trace the route the stampeders followed on their way to the goldfields in the late 19th century and experience the beauty of the White Pass summit before entering the broad, open landscape of the wild Canadian Highlands before disembarking at Lake Bernard.

The next stage of your adventure begins with a “gear grab” and instruction in the use of stable, state-of-the-art, two-person kayaks. After being launched by your guides, paddle across the cold, pristine waters that the gold field stampeders plied more than 100 years ago to reach the gold fields of the Yukon. During the trip you will enjoy unobstructed panoramic views of stunning alpine wilderness, including snow-capped mountains that rise in all directions. Your experienced, knowledgeable, and professional guide will share with you tales of the gold rush, natural history, flora, and fauna. Watch for bear, mountain goat, caribou and eagles amid the alpine terrain of the Tormented Valley.

After paddling, enjoy a light snack before boarding a motor coach for your return to Skagway via the Klondike Highway.

Passport required. Some Nationalities may need Visa to enter Canada

Note: Trip may run in reverse order with bus portion first, kayaking, then train back to Skagway.
